Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ´s)
When can patients be seen?
As soon as our office
is contacted, a bilingual coordinator will schedule an appointment
with a patient.
Does a patient have to
be homebound to request a house call?
The main focus of our
practice is geriatric or homebound patients and others with special
needs. Please contact our office to determine if a patient qualifies.
Is the examination with
a house call the same as an office visit?
Yes. Examinations performed
during a house call visit include the same evaluation techniques
and diagnostic testing that a patient would receive in a doctors
office. Many of the tests and treatment options that were previously
available only in an office setting are now administered in the
home.
Will I loose control over
a patient if I refer them to HousecallsNY.org?
No. Our staff will work
with healthcare professionals to coordinate the medical needs of
patients. All notes made during an in-home visit are provided to
the primary care physician immediately. Our role is to extend medical
care rather than transfer it.
Will patients see a doctor
each visit?
Our nurse practitioners
are trained by Dr. Henoch to diagnose and treat non-emergency cases.
By utilizing nurse practitioners, as well as Dr. Henoch, we´re
able to give the time and personalized attention to each patient
we see.
Is HousecallsNy.org an
emergency service?
No.
HousecallsNY.org is not an emergency service. If a patient is having
a medical emergency, we advise them to contact 911.
How is the patient charged
for this service?
Our
in-home visits are covered by Medicare and most forms of private
insurance. We will bill primary and secondary insurance carriers
for the patient. If insurance does not cover the visit, patients
may pay privately.
Do
patients have to use one of the hospitals that HousecallsNY.org
is affiliated with?
Though
we would like our patients to use one of the hospitals our physicians
are affiliated with, we do not require patients to
use hospitals we are on staff at.
